Fargo HDP5000 mengusung teknologi retransfer menggunakan teknologi dye-sublimation untuk mencetak photo dengan resolusi 300 dpi. Menggunakan Film yang akan menempel ke permukaan kartu ketika proses pencetakan sehingga hasil print out akan masuk kebagian dalam kartu yang membuat hasil cetakan kartunya susah untuk pudar / luntur.
